Good progress has been made on overhauling this unique steam engine.
Boiler
Nearly all the Studs for the Boiler have been renewed, Firehole Door reattached. When MPI and NDT have returned good results, work such as Retubing and Repairing the Mud Hole Doors can be done, enabling Hydraulic Testing can start.
All Boiler Fittings are ready for use.
Chassis
The Chassis is almost ready for lifting. Once lifted, its parts can then receive work. Motion, Brake Blocks, Reverser Level and Piston Covers have been removed. On Examination, Cylinder Bores look in good condition and Piston might not need new Rings. After a cleanup, Horn Stay Bolts have been reattached until the Chassis is lifted from Wheels. Once the Frame has been moved onto a Rail Wagon, Grit Blasting and Final Stripping can begin.
Larger Components, such as Coal Bunker, Roof, and Water Tank have all been unbolted from the Frame.
