Arriva Trains Wales have relaunched their Club 55 scheme which sees low cost, off-peak travel offers for customers aged 55 or over.
Passengers can travel anywhere on the Arriva Trains Wales network for just £27, ideal for beating the January blues.
Examples include Bangor to Cardiff, a round trip of 416 miles, would cost £97.60, but under the Club 55 scheme, it will cost just £27… a saving of £70
Birmingham New Street to Aberystwyth, a round trip of 248 miles, would normally cost £57.10, but with Club 55, you get a saving of more than £30.
Arriva Trains Wales has also teamed up with Northern, Cross Country, West Midlands Trains, Merseyrail and Chiltern Railways to allow customers to travel further afield, like Liverpool Lime Street (add-on from £3) or London Marylebone (add-on from £21).
Arriva Club 55 products are available from National Rail station ticket office, alternatively, you can use promo code ATWCLUB on the ATW website.
The promotion runs until the 3rd March, although the return leg of the journey can be used until the 10th March.
Club 55 tickets cannot be used before 09:30 Monday to Friday.
What did the officials say?
Marketing Manager for Arriva Trains Wales Matthew Breese said: “We’re really fortunate to run services to so many epic places across Wales and the Borders, so regardless of what you fancy there is a destination to suit you. It could be a trip to one of the big towns or cities we serve, a rural escape, or a journey to our coastal shores. We love running Club 55, and we know our customers absolutely love it too.”
