The Thompson B1 Locomotive Trust have released their exciting plans this year for 61264.
An agreement has been made between the Thompson B1 Locomotive Trust and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) which will see 61264 based on the line for the next 5 years.
While undergoing winter maintenance at the NYMR, 61264 will receive a repaint. The new Livery to be carried is Lined LNER Black with LNER Number No. 1264.
1264’s first big event of 2018 is the Severn Valley Railway‘s Spring Steam Gala in March. After the Gala, 1264 with its Support Coach will haul a few Mainline Tours.
The Tours and Dates being the “Whitby Flyer” on both the 7th and 14th of April and “Great Britain XI” for 2 days in Scotland, on the 22nd and 23rd of April.
Once Mainline duties are completed, 1264 will return home to the NYMR, where it will join other home fleet engines in hauling busy Summer trains along the Line.
Before entering Traffic for Summer services, 1264 will receive a Renumber and Name, becoming No. 1040 “Roedeer” for the rest of 2018. 61264 has appeared as lost class members before, which has been popular with visitors to the Line.
