Great Western Railway (GWR) Locomotive 14XX No.1450, who is resident at the Severn Valley Railway in Kidderminster, has been painted into GWR Livery.
The repaint comes as 1450’s owners want the locomotive to see out the rest of its boiler Ticket in GWR Livery. This includes the “GWR” lettering on its tanks.
The locomotive retains its later number, 1450, which it received in 1946, originally being numbered 4850 when built in 1935.
1450 was last seen in GWR Livery 5 years ago back in 2013.
Due to 1450’s power, it either double heads with other engines to haul services, or pull its own Autocoaches, 178 and 238 along the line.
Currently, 1450 is the only preserved 14XX operational, the other remaining three are either undergoing Overhaul or are on a Static Display.
