The Nene Valley Railway, near Peterborough, has seen, over the last couple of days, seen a few locomotives arrive on the railway.
Some are returning Home Fleet locomotives, some are visiting, and one is a very special locomotive indeed!
All information below is correct at the time of writing.
We will update you with more information when it becomes available.
34081 92 Squadron
The first loco to arrive was 34081 “92 Squadron.” This is due to “92 Squadron” taking part in the Great Central Railway’s Autumn Gala and hauling normal services the weekend after the Gala.
Std 2 No. 78018
The second loco to arrive is 78018. 78018 has come from the GCR, where it also preformed in the GCR’s Autumn Gala, alongside “92 Squadron”. 78018 is to stay until early next year, working special trains such as the Santa Special.
A3 No. 60103 Flying Scotsman
The last loco to arrive is 60103 “Flying Scotsman”. “Flying Scotsman” is only visiting NVR due to a problem occurring while hauling a mainline tour. Flying Scotsman was taken off its train and Peterborough Station and taken to Wansford Station on NVR. The problem that occurred has been reported as a ‘hot box’. Flying Scotsman is to stay at NVR until this problem can be resolved.
Due to the nature of this visit, i advise anyone wishing to see Flying Scotsman to check the Nene Valley Railway’s Facebook page or Website for updates on Flying Scotsman.
