In this weeks ‘Throwback Thursday’ we see locomotive ‘Beddgelert’ at Fairbourne back in 2015. The loco featured in a previous post, which you can see here
Beddgelert is a half size model of the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway’s locomotive which ran on the F&WHR. Originally named David Curwen, the locomotive was built by David Curwen in 1980. The locomotive is awaiting restoration and is currently out of service, but you can find the loco on display at the Museum/Entrance to Fairbourne Station.
The Fairbourne Railway (Beddgelerts Home)
The Fairbourne Railway runs for 2 miles between Fairbourne and Barmouth Ferry and is a 12 and quarter inch gauge railway. Access to Barmouth can be found by using the railway and a ferry across the Mawddach Estuary.
